Position Overview: Provide Financial And Administrative Support For The Town. Verify Invoices, Process Payments, Reconcile Expenses, Oversee Day-to-day Financial Transactions, And Grant Management For The Town. The Accounts Payable Clerk Operates Under The Direction Of The Town Administrator. This Person Assists With The Budget, Interacts With The Town’s Accountant And Auditor, And Is Responsible For Keeping Finance Statements Organized And Accessible. Salary: $17 Per Hour Basic / Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma Or Equivalent (GED), At Least 3 Years Prior Professional Experience In A Bookkeeping/accounting Position With Strong Knowledgeable Accounts Payable Procedure And Practices, Strong Computer Skills, Strong Listening Proficiencies And Ability To Communicate Professionally Both Verbal And Written-to Peers And Public. A Valid N.C. Driver’s License Is Required. This Position Requires Sitting, Standing, Walking, And/or Stooping. Preferred: Accounts Payable Specialist Certification (CAPS) Local Government, County, State Finance Experience Associate Or Bachelor’s Degree In Finance Position Accountabilities And Essential Functions: This Position Includes Professional Duties Requiring Independent Judgment. Must Be Trustworthy, Respectful, Ethical, With The Utmost Integrity. The Accounts Payable Clerk Should Possess Great Organizational Skills And Pay Attention To Detail. Must Also Have Good Listening Skills And The Ability To Communicate Clearly And Effectively. Standard Office Hours: Part-time (20 Hours/week) Typically Monday Through Friday 8:00 AM To 12 Noon Or 12:00 PM To 4:00 PM. Attends Town Council Meetings To Present The Monthly Finance Reports, And Attends The Annual Overnight (Friday/Saturday) Town Retreat.
